Description

Owl and bow shows a shaggy owl with big green eyes and a pink bow on her head, looking straight at the viewer.

What the picture shows

The feathers spread out from the body as long curved threads of brown, beige, grey and black beads — they are what give the piece its volume and fluff. The eyes are rings of pale blue and green with black pupils, the beak picked out in gold. The bow is worked in pink and white with small blue dots, a green sprig above it. White, pink and lime beads are scattered over the chest, and green stitches mark the wings. The soft blue background stays as print on the canvas: the beads go on the owl alone, which pushes her forward. Twelve colours make the plumage varied without shouting. A few golden beads mark the beak and the claws.
