Description

“On a beach” is a bear cub under a large yellow parasol by the sea.

What the picture shows

The parasol takes up the whole upper half: a yellow canopy with printed roses, with rows of pink, pale blue and white beads along its edge and ribs and a pink bow at the side. Beneath it sits a yellow bear cub in a pink swimsuit with white dots and a pink flower on its head. In front is a sandcastle beaded in red, orange and white, and a bucket with a red rim and a yellow handle. A strip of sea with a distant sailing boat shows behind; the sand, the water and the beach mat all stay printed on the canvas. The ribs of the parasol are drawn as separate rows of beads running from the centre to the edge, and they set the rhythm of the whole upper half. The sandcastle is densely beaded, with white crenellations along the top. The cub stays printed: the beads go into the swimsuit, the flower and the paws. The sea and the sailing boat take no beads at all.
