Description

Mersedes-500k is a red long-bonneted roadster standing by an old apartment block. The car takes up almost the full width of the canvas.

What the picture shows

The body is worked in bright red with orange and gold set into the bonnet and the louvres. White and silver beads form the chrome windscreen frame, the headlamps, the radiator grille and the door trim; the tyres are black and the wheel spokes radiate from the hub in silver. The cabin is left as dark blue print. The apartment block with its balconies, the street lamp and the overhead wires are drawn in pencil and watercolour on the canvas and are not covered with beads. The eight colours split between the reds of the body and the cold chrome, with a few gold beads placed precisely on the louvres and the lamp rims.
