Description

“Lucky kaleidoscope” is a four-leaf clover at the centre of a symmetrical pattern.

What the picture shows

A symmetrical rosette is laid out on a dark grey ground. A large four-leaf clover sits at the centre, worked in emerald and grass-green beads with lighter veins. Leaves, scrolls and small flowers in green, olive and gold spread out from it in every direction, with round beads at the corners. The design is built as a mirror image, like a kaleidoscope. The ground between the elements stays printed and holds the sharp outline of the pattern, so rows need counting more carefully here than in freer subjects. The corner beads are larger than the rest and hold the square, keeping the rosette from drifting to one side. The veins on the clover leaves are beaded in a lighter green. The scrolls at the edges of the rosette are finer than the leaves at the centre, and they soften the strict symmetry.
