Description

“Love” sets the word in beads above an old envelope and clumps of lilac hydrangea.

What the picture shows

The word takes the right half: the letters are worked in crimson, lilac and pink beads with a long flourish trailing downwards. Heavy hydrangea heads sit to the left and right of it, built from dozens of separate beads in violet, blue, lilac and pink, with large green leaves. A yellowed envelope with a handwritten address and a postmark lies at the bottom, outlined in pale beads. A dragonfly is just visible above. The ground is pale lilac with printed ornament on the right; it stays as printing, while the beads carry only the lettering, the flowers and the envelope. The flower heads have no firm outline and are built as separate clusters of beads, so the hydrangea looks soft, while the lettering is laid in a strict line.
