“Letter of happiness” is a light fairy-tale scene: a large envelope carrying a pear, a cake and a tiny girl.

What the picture shows

A pastel envelope with handwritten lines lies in the centre, outlined in pink and pearl beads, with lilac and turquoise corners. On its left sits a green pear dotted with white and edged in green beads; on the right, a layered pink cream cake with a paper parasol above it. A small girl in a striped top stands on top of the pear holding a pink balloon on a stick. Green clover leaves float around in the air, worked as dense clusters of beads. The ground — a pale blue wash — stays as printing with no beading at all. The beading here follows the outlines almost entirely, which is why the watercolour ground stays so transparent.
