Description

“Hostess” is a bear cub with a pink watering can tending flowers in a garden.

What the picture shows

The cub stands on the left in a yellow dress and a white bonnet with pink trim; bonnet, collar and hem are beaded, and it holds a large pink watering can with a beaded rim. An apple tree fills the right and top: the foliage is worked in several greens, with yellow fruit and small red berries showing through it, and a tit with a grey-blue back sits on a branch. At the lower right large red-orange flowers and a sunflower open out, beaded in yellow, ochre and dark brown. The sky, the trunk and some of the fruit stay printed. The apple leaves are worked in small clusters with printed sky deliberately left between them, so the crown of the tree looks open. The watering can is densely beaded and gives the brightest pink patch. The flowers below are made of red and orange beads laid in a circle around a dark centre. The tit is beaded only along its back and wing.
