Description

Grapes and vine shows a bottle, a glass of red wine, a bunch of pink grapes and a peach on a table by the window.

What the picture shows

The bottle is outlined in green and turquoise, its neck beaded in black with white dots. The glass is worked in pink, lilac and red following the shape of the bowl — the wine looks translucent because the painted canvas shows under the beads. The grapes are made as separate rosettes of pink and crimson, the blackberry in black with a white highlight, the peach in red and orange rows. The leaves are green and emerald, the tendrils fine single lines. Bands of ornament in yellow, gold and brown run along the top and bottom, while the ochre ground with the view in the window stays printed. Thirteen colours give a warm Tuscan palette. The tendril above the glass stays painted.
