Description

“Gifts for everyone” turns a cactus into a Christmas tree: a red cap, a garland and a star on top.

What the picture shows

The green cactus is worked in two shades of green beads, with a garland of gold and orange beads running across it, a yellow star on top and a red cap with white trim to one side. The cactus stands in a terracotta pot, and red gift boxes with white dots and green bows pile up below. A ginger fox cub in a small cap peeps out on the left, and a purple parcel lies on the right. The soft mint watercolour of the background stays printed: on art canvas the beads are not solid, so they carry the cactus, the presents and the garland. The cactus spines are marked with single pale beads set over the green — a small detail, but without it the plant would lose its character. The boxes below are beaded in even rows and go quickly, so the work starts easily.
