Description

“Gaze Alchemy” is a large eye in a gold setting with turquoise stones.

What the picture shows

The eye is open to the full width: the iris is beaded in turquoise and emerald circles, the pupil black, the white pale. Above and below it a gold setting frames it — dense rows of bronze and gold beads with an embossed pattern, with blue teardrop stones set at the top of the arch and beneath the eye. The lashes are dark and long. The grey ground at the corners stays printed and does not distract from the subject. The iris is beaded in rings from the pupil outward, so it reads with depth instead of as a flat patch. The lashes are beaded in short rows of different lengths, so they do not look like an even comb. The blue teardrop stones use larger beads than the setting, so they stand out clearly.
