Description

“Fox pup” is a ginger fox cub with big ears in a cosy beige room.

What the picture shows

The cub sits in the centre facing the viewer: the outline of its face, its ears, paws and bushy tail are traced in ginger, gold and white beads, while the fur itself stays printed. Rays of long gold and cream bead rows fan out behind it and work as a glow around the figure. A floor lamp stands on the left, its shade beaded in white and greyish blue with a drop pendant hanging beneath. On the right are an oval mirror in a beaded frame, a table and a vase of pink flowers. The wall is beige and striped, the stripes picked out with vertical strings of beads. The rays behind the cub are worked as long rows of varying length, with beige canvas left between them — which is why the glow never looks heavy. The lampshade is beaded more densely than anything else. The flowers in the vase are pink, a few beads each. The cub’s face and tail stay printed, with the beads only tracing their outline.
