Description

“FC Barcelona” sets the club crest in beads over a ground of dripping paint.

What the picture shows

The crest holds the middle: the shield is edged with a double outline of black and gold beads, the upper fields carry a red cross on white and red-and-yellow stripes, a gold band across the centre spells FCB, and the lower blue-and-claret field holds a ball worked in black. The ground is white canvas down which broad runs of paint drip — blue, claret, red, pink and yellow. Each run is picked up by vertical rows of beads in the matching colour, so the background glints in stripes rather than all over, with the printing showing through between them. The crest itself is densely beaded and so looks almost raised against the sparse verticals. The white base shows through between the bead runs — a deliberate effect, not a gap.
