Description

Expresso is a coffee pot, a cup of strong coffee with steam and a coffee branch, assembled into a patchwork panel with lettering.

What the picture shows

The coffee pot is outlined in dark red and black, its lid and spout picked out in white and red. The cup and saucer are worked in pearl, the dark coffee inside in black and brown, and the steam above it curls up as a lilac spiral. The branch on the right is filled with green beads and small red berries. The words BRASIL, CAFE and espresso are beaded over the printed patches, while the rest of the background — ochre and green rectangles with lettering — stays as print on the canvas. The ten colours are shared between the pot, the cup, the green branch and the lettering, while the ochre patches of background stay printed and tie it all together.
