Description

“Easter primrose” is an egg of white and yellow primroses on a green check.

What the picture shows

The ground is a pale green check. The oval of the egg is gathered from small flowers: white and cream petals with yellow centres, amber clusters between them and fine green leaves that step outside the outline. The scatter is open, the ground shows between the blooms, and it is the ground that holds the egg shape. A handwritten line in the same tone runs below. The beads cover the flowers, the leaves and the buds, while the check and the lettering stay printed. A few leaves deliberately overstep the oval, so the silhouette does not look cut out with scissors. The amber clusters are gathered in threes and fours, and they are what keeps the white scatter from merging into a single patch.
