Description

“Christmas angel” is an angel doll inside a wreath of fir branches, close to a handmade tree ornament.

What the picture shows

A round wreath frames the whole figure: it is worked in deep blue, light blue and white beads, its sprigs pointing outwards like rays, with white balls of snow and fine printed curls between them. Inside stands the angel with long golden hair, a green wreath on her head, a red bow at her chest and a garland of green sprigs in her hands. Her dress is cream with a row of black dots along the hem, and pale wings show behind her. The face, features and soft shadows stay as printing on the canvas — the beads take the wreath, the clothing, the hair and the accents. The rays of the wreath are set three or four beads to a row, and that unevenness makes it look plaited rather than drawn.
