Description

“Cherry twig” shows a cluster of ripe cherries with leaves on a collage of old papers.

What the picture shows

The branch runs from the top right down to the left: the fruit is worked in deep red and dark cherry beads, each berry given a lighter bead as a highlight, the stalks in brown. The leaves are large and toothed, filled with two shades of green and yellowish veins. A white daisy with a yellow centre opens at the bottom right. The ground is a printed vintage collage: staves of music, handwritten letters, faded apricots and the words “Art Botanique” and “Vintage”. Beads go only on the branch and the daisy; the whole paper background is left exactly as printed. The cherries are worked as tight rounds of a few beads each, which makes them look plump, while the leaves are filled with long rows following the veins.
