Description

“Cheerful tiger” shows a tiger cub's face with big blue eyes inside an arch of flowers.

What the picture shows

The head takes the centre: ginger fur with black stripes worked in short rows of dark beads, white cheeks and a pink nose, whiskers run in fine threads of beads. The eyes are large, with blue irises and black pupils outlined in white beads. A yellow beaded arch curves above the head with pink flowers at its ends. Below, a wreath of green leaves, pink and lilac flowers and white blossom surrounds the cub. The white ground stays printed — on art canvas the beads do not cover the surface. The stripes on the face are short rows of dark beads set over the printed fur — they are what makes the cub a tiger. The eyes are built from several rings in different tones, and the whole expression depends on getting those rings right.
