Description

“Cheerful house” shows a gingerbread house under a glass dome among frosted branches.

What the picture shows

The house stands on a wooden base worked in brown and golden beads. The walls are pink with white icing along the edges, the roof deep cherry in a fine lattice, the door and windows outlined in white and red. The glass dome is marked by an arc of white beads with a gold finial on top. Frosted branches grow on either side, worked in several rows of white and silver beads, with small fir trees on the left and a pink mitten on the right. The mint ground with its snowflakes stays printed: on art canvas the beads are not solid. The frosted branches are worked in two or three rows of white and silver beads, so they look fluffy and take up nearly half the surface. The finely latticed roof asks for the most care and is best left until last.
