Description

Cacao is a cup of hot cocoa with a milky spiral on top, a row of drawn suns beside it and a square of chocolate below.

What the picture shows

The spiral on the surface of the drink is worked in white, cream and brown so that it genuinely coils inwards. The blue cup carries a red-and-white pattern of triangles and curls, with the handle outlined in amber. The three orange suns on the left are coiled from spiral rows, and the green leaves to the right and below follow their veins in green beads. The word cacao at the top is set in black and orange beads. The terracotta ground with its spiral border stays as print on the canvas. Twelve colours make the widest palette among the coffee pieces here, holding both the warm spiral of the drink and the cold blue of the cup.
