Description

“Bring the light” is a bulb glowing in warm rings in the dark.

What the picture shows

A lamp with a rounded bulb sits in the centre, its base built from rows of grey and blue beads. The filament burns inside, and concentric circles spread out from it: yellow, orange, red and burgundy, each one beaded as its own row. Beyond them, on the dark ground, short blue rays fly off like sparks. The dark grey ground stays as printing on the canvas and quiets everything around the light. The circles run from the centre outward, each a little darker than the one before. The dashes of light are scattered unevenly — denser below, sparser above — which makes the glow feel alive. The lamp base is beaded in a cool grey — the only cold tone in the warm centre of the piece.
