Description

“Blooming daffodils” shows a yellow bouquet in a woven basket, ringed with small spring flowers.

What the picture shows

Five daffodils with broad yellow petals and orange trumpets turn in different directions; leaves and curling stems are beaded in several greens. The basket is violet, built from vertical strips of beads, with scrolls at its foot. Small blue and yellow flowers are scattered across the pale field, and a butterfly sits at the top left. A wavy line of lilac beads outlines the scene, while the outer field — violet check — stays as print on the canvas and is not beaded. The trumpets of the daffodils are beaded as orange rings, the petals in short rows running out from the centre. The weave of the basket is rendered as vertical strips of violet beads with print left showing between them.
