Description

“Apricot branch” shows ripe apricots, leaves and white blossom on an old botanical sheet.

What the picture shows

The fruit gathers in a cluster at the centre: orange and golden-yellow beads with flushed reddish sides, each apricot ringed by a darker row. Large green leaves with yellow veins spread around it in two shades, and small white flowers with yellow centres open at the top right and below. A sunflower sits at the bottom centre, laid out in yellow and brown beads. The ground stays as printing — old handwritten sheets, faded fruit and the words “Art Botanique” and “Vintage” — with not a single bead on it. The fruit is filled with arcs running from the pale side to the flushed one, and it is that shift that gives volume with so few colours.
