Description

“Amazing flowers” places three large blooms and a butterfly on a pale patterned field.

What the picture shows

The biggest flower is orange, with broad petals and a violet centre laid in rows of beads; beside it a yellow one, sunflower-like, with a golden heart, and a smaller bloom below. A butterfly with green and yellow wings and a black body rests at the top left. Stems and large leaves are worked in violet and lilac beads. The background — white with a lilac leaf pattern and a zigzag along the bottom — stays as print on the canvas, so the flowers read like an appliqué laid over wallpaper. The petals of the big orange flower are worked in rows from the centre outwards, which makes them look convex. The leaves are laid in two shades of violet bead, while the veins are left as print so they do not fight the shape.
