Description

“Tree of Wisdom” is a pine on a rock before a golden disc, in an eastern idiom.

What the picture shows

A large circle glows behind, worked in even rows of gold and sand beads. A pine grows against it: the dark green crown laid out in tiered cushions, the trunk bending aside and running down together with roots that grip a stone. Stylised clouds drift on either side as golden bead spirals. The dark green ground with its marbled washes stays printed and adds depth, while the crown is beaded in small clusters so the needles never look solid. The roots are stitched in fine rows a single bead wide and the stone in short slanting ones, so the two never merge. A few branches reach past the golden circle, which keeps the tree looking alive.
