Description

“Sunny mood” shows sunflowers on an old postcard — a warm piece in yellows and oranges with two butterflies.

What the picture shows

Three large sunflowers open across the left half of the picture: broad pointed petals running from honey yellow to rust, with centres worked in spiral rows of brown and gold beads. Between them are juicy green leaves and thin stems, with one more half-open head peeking in from below. A blue butterfly with white-edged wings sits on a stem at the top, and a rust-and-black tortoiseshell rests in the bottom right corner. The background is a printed cream postcard with the brown words “Carte Postale”, lines of French text and sweeping handwriting; it stays as print on the canvas, and beads cover only the flowers, leaves and butterflies.
