Description

“Spring guest” shows a black cat asleep on a pink settee under branches of blossom.

What the picture shows

The settee stands in the middle: a pink seat sprigged with small red flowers, a carved black back and scrolled legs worked in black and deep violet beads. A black cat lies curled on it with its ears up, a red heart in front of it. Branches heavy with blossom hang over the settee — pink, white and red flowers with yellow centres, green and turquoise leaves, dark shoots. On the left and right the blossom reaches all the way down the picture. Two lilac butterflies flutter by the back of the settee. The background is a printed sky in blue, lilac and pink washes; it stays as the image, while the beads cover the settee, the cat and the flowers.
