Description

“La Boca” shows a couple dancing tango beside a circle full of brightly painted harbour houses.

What the picture shows

The dancers stand a little left of centre: he in a black suit and hat, she in a pale dress, the silhouettes stitched in black, cream and grey beads. Grey and white façades with spires and lamps rise behind them, laid in silver, white and black. The right half is taken by a large circle crowded with houses in orange, turquoise, green, blue and yellow, complete with balconies, shutters and roofs; palms and trees in dark green beads stand above them. A black three-lamp street light stands at the bottom centre. The lower corners are filled with a mosaic of coloured squares, while the dark ground at the top stays printed.
