“Tea rose” shows a large open rose in pink and lilac against white boards.

What the picture shows

The flower fills the upper half: the petals are laid in rings from the edge inwards — pale pink, peach and white at the rim shading into lilac and blue-violet deeper in, with an orange spark at the very centre. A thick green stem runs down from the bloom, carrying large toothed leaves stitched in several greens with golden veins. A lilac bud sits on a short twig to the right. The background is printed: whitewashed vertical boards with cracks, painted over with faint pale roses; it takes no beads.
