Description

“Good luck fish” shows a large, brightly coloured fish painted as if in watercolour.

What the picture shows

The fish turns head down and to the left and fills almost the whole square. Its scales are built from short rows of many colours at once — orange, pink, blue, turquoise, yellow and lilac lie in bands and run into one another. The dorsal fin above is dark, worked in black, violet and gold beads, and a wide tail with yellow and lilac strokes shows beneath it. The eye is ringed in black and white, the gills marked in green and rust. Single beads are scattered over the white canvas around the fish like bubbles. The background is printed: watercolour washes of lilac, orange and turquoise that stay as the image.
