Description

“Friday” is an evening still life with wine bottles, glasses and grapes.

What the picture shows

A deep turquoise bottle with wings stands in the centre: the glass is stitched in green and blue beads with a gold pattern, the neck finished with a red cap, and a printed label on its front. On the left is a red bottle with a paper label and a bunch of dark grapes at its foot; on the right, a bottle in black and white harlequin diamonds. Four glasses stand in front of them: a tall one of red wine at the top, two narrower ones of golden drink and a wide bowl in the centre, all outlined in silver and cream beads. Green and red bunches of grapes lie below. The handwritten line “Keep your spirits flowing high” runs across the pale ground at the top, and a black border with rows of copper and black beads frames the picture.
