Description

“First snow” shows an old twisted tree with rust-coloured bark in a snowy forest.

What the picture shows

The trunk and branches are the brightest part: they are stitched in rust, orange, brick and black beads with white strokes of snow on top, and the limbs spread out to the upper corners. Needles in dark green, emerald and yellow beads are scattered through the crown. The whole lower part is a snowdrift built from fans — pale blue, blue, lilac and peach arcs laid one over another like ridges of snow; a bush of blue and violet twigs sticks out of the drift on the right. The background stays printed: a pale forest of straight trunks, a blue band of river, and white snow beads scattered over the whole picture.
