Description

“Emerald branch” is a dense cluster of ginkgo fans growing from a dark base up into the light.

What the picture shows

The composition is built on contrast: the ground is milky white at the top and deepens into rich chocolate below. Thin golden stems rise from the bottom edge, and fans open along them — turquoise with dark veins, warm brown, cream and gold. The leaves overlap, so the cluster reads as a living branch rather than a flat ornament. The beads cover the foliage and the stems; the ground with its shift from white to dark stays printed, and it is what carries the depth. A few leaves turn their reverse side to the viewer and are worked in a lighter tone — they are what keeps the dense mass of foliage from merging into a single patch.
