Midi Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "Emerald beetle"
Description
“Emerald beetle” is a glossy green beetle set in a symmetrical frame of branches and leaves.
What the picture shows
The insect is seen from above: the wing cases are worked in emerald and grass-green beads with a golden sheen along the edge, the thorax is darker, and the antennae and six legs are brown-bronze. Thin branches with elongated leaves in swamp and copper tones spread out symmetrically on both sides and close the composition into an oval. The ground is an even grey and stays printed; a few sequins add a glint on the wing cases and the leaves. A light stripe one bead wide runs along the wing cases — that is what gives the shell its wet-looking gloss.

The graphic symmetry and the 200×200 mm format look good in a study or beside other “collector’s cabinet” subjects. Gallery finishing is provided for — no baguette and no passe-partout. The difficulty is average; thirteen colours and a symmetrical frame call for an even count of rows. The grey ground is neutral, so the piece hangs equally well on a pale or a dark wall. Next to another insect subject it reads as part of a collection.
