Description

“Cookies for Santa” is a jar of gingerbread and a red lantern on a festive table.

What the picture shows

A glass jar tied with a red checked ribbon stands in the centre: through its sides you can see cookies shaped like a reindeer, a fir tree and a bell, laid out in pale and brown beads. A red oil lantern burns on the left with a warm flame inside. Fir branches, gold baubles, pine cones and red berries are arranged around, and a few more iced gingerbread pieces lie on the table. The dark grey ground behind stays printed, so the flame and the gold look brighter, and the glass of the jar is given by a lighter row of beads along its edge. The cookies inside the jar are beaded in a slightly paler tone than those on the table — that is how the glass between them and the viewer is shown.
