Description

“Colorful wonder” is a festive folk bird among red berries and blue leaves.

What the picture shows

The bird stands in the centre on thin legs: a black body flecked with white, a splendid red fan of a tail edged in white, blue wing feathers and a red comb. Around it blue teardrop leaves, red flowers and round berries are laid out symmetrically, and a wreath of small green leaves runs along the edge. The ground is white and almost flat; it stays printed and makes the colours read more sharply. The beads go onto the bird, the berries and the foliage, and sequins light up individual berries. The composition mirrors itself about the vertical: the same berries and leaves repeat to the left and right of the bird, and only the tail breaks the symmetry.
