Description

“Cattleya” shows three lilac orchids with yellow and orange throats among tropical greenery.

What the picture shows

The flowers run diagonally from top to bottom: broad wavy petals are worked in lilac, mauve and pale pink beads, while the lip of each bloom is built from orange, yellow and white with dark strokes inside. Foliage is scattered to the left and right — long feathery branches in green and turquoise, wide dark leaves, brown and gold stems, and white sprays below. Small yellow flowers appear at the top right and near the left edge. A dark grey printed rectangle stays behind the flowers, and the border of the picture is a print imitating pale woven bamboo; neither area takes beads.
