Description

“Cats at window” shows two black cats on a sill looking at the moon over a night town.

What the picture shows

The cats sit with their backs to the viewer in the centre: tall silhouettes stitched in black beads, with white whiskers and ear tufts, tails lying along the sill. In front of them is an open window with a blue frame worked in rows of blue, turquoise and grey. Beyond it a deep blue sky is strewn with white star beads, and a large cream crescent moon carries a gold rim. Houses crowd below with yellow windows, orange roofs and balconies outlined in black and copper beads. A pile of books with red and blue spines lies on the sill at the right. The edges are a dark printed wall that stays unbeaded.
