Description

“Calf” shows a bull's head built from openwork silver-white ornament with a red heart on its brow.

What the picture shows

The figure is assembled from symmetrical scrolls: strands of white, grey, steel and near-black beads radiate from the centre and form the ears, horns and muzzle. The horns are thin and long, lifted upwards and underlined with a dark line. A large red heart glows in the middle of the brow, stitched in dense rows of red and burgundy beads with a pattern inside. Lower down the symmetrical design turns into nostrils and a chin, and small curls hang from the edges of the figure like hoarfrost. The dark grey printed background is left entirely unbeaded, and the pale ornament reads against it as lace.
