Description

“Autumn Neighborhood” is an orange vintage car by an old house in autumn leaves.

What the picture shows

The car stands side-on over cobbles strewn with yellow and red leaves: the body is worked in ochre, orange and warm brown beads, the bumper and hubcaps in silver. Behind it is the stone wall of a house with tall windows, wooden shutters and a door hung with an autumn wreath; a lamp burns beside the entrance. A tree with a rust-coloured crown spreads above the roof and a few leaves fall through the air; the cobbles and the shadow in the depth stay as printing on the canvas. The leaves on the cobbles lie unevenly: heaped near the wheels, scattered singly further off. The lamp by the door is the only warm spot in the depth of the picture.
