Description

“Attracted distance” gathers the signs of the sea: a ship's wheel, a sailing boat, a lighthouse and an anchor above blue water.

What the picture shows

The biggest element is the wooden wheel in the lower left: rim and handles are stitched in warm golden brown, while the hub is built from rings of blue and white beads. To its right lies an anchor in grey and black beads with a rope coiled around it and a small knot. A sailing boat with fore-and-aft sails in blue, pale blue and red crosses the upper part, a red pennant at the masthead. The right edge is taken by a lighthouse in red and white diagonal bands with its lantern and railings. A rust starfish sits top left on an eight-pointed compass star. The background is printed: a pale cloudy sky and bands of sea, some waves picked out in rows of blue and white beads while the rest stays as the printed image.
