Description

“At the bottom of the sea” is a stylised underwater picture built around a large seahorse in violet and blue.

What the picture shows

The seahorse fills the right half: its body is worked in fine rows of deep violet, lilac and blue, a round spiral pattern sits on its flank, a toothed crest runs along its back and the tail curls into a ring at the bottom. A large rosette glows in the top left, half sea urchin and half mandala, with white and pale blue petals around a turquoise centre. A school of six small fish — violet, blue and lilac — swims across the middle. A dark brown coral of narrow curved branches rises from below, and waves of white, blue and violet beads run along the bottom edge. The left strip is a printed floral border, only partly beaded; the pale zigzag background stays as print.
