Description

“Above the sea” shows an old tree with a twisted rust-coloured trunk on the shore of a bay.

What the picture shows

The tree spreads across the whole picture: trunk and branches are stitched in orange, brick, brown and black beads with pale strokes, and the limbs curve out to all four corners. Leaves in green, emerald and white beads are scattered through the crown, with lilac and pink clusters of flowers between them. A dense bush of blue, violet and lime beads grows at the bottom left. The background stays printed: turquoise water in wavy bands, a sandy shore with a white boat, a wooden cottage with a green porch and railings, and a patch of sky at the top left.
