“A touch of spring” is a mouse sitting in a china cup and holding a pink rose for an umbrella.

What the picture shows

The cup stands on its saucer in the centre: white china with pink roses and a gold rim, worked in pale beads with warm shadows. A grey mouse looks out of it — a round ear, black eyes, a long pink tail hanging over the side. Above it, like an umbrella, a large rose opens on a thin stem, beaded in pink and crimson along a spiral. Petals and small flowers lie below, and the cream ground with its soft patches stays printed, which keeps the cup looking light. The pattern on the cup repeats on the saucer in a smaller scale, and that shows immediately from close up.
