Description

“London style” is a collage of things from one era: an early open-topped car, a pocket watch and a leather belt against a sepia view of Westminster.

What the picture shows

The car of the early nineteen-hundreds fills the upper half: the black wing and running board are worked in black beads, the bonnet, wheels and lamps in yellow and gold, with the spokes laid out bead by bead. Behind it a sepia view of the Palace of Westminster and the bridge stays as printing. A pocket watch lies in the lower left: the case and long chain are worked in bronze and gold, while the dial and hands stay printed. To the right of it sits a stack of round yellow objects with beaded rims, and along the bottom edge runs a leather belt with a buckle, worked in yellow and white beads over the printed base. Six colours in a warm ochre range.
