Microbead Embroidery Postcard-Envelope Kit "Dragonfly and Butterfly"

“Dragonfly and Butterfly” shows a large blue dragonfly against hydrangeas, with two butterflies nearby. The insects lead here; the flowers are their stage.

What the picture shows

The dragonfly hangs in the middle, just above the flowers: its long body is worked in blue and turquoise beads, while the transparent wings are suggested by sparse rows of pale blue beads with the print showing through. A small blue butterfly sits in the upper right, and a brown butterfly with golden specks opens its wings on a pink hydrangea below. The hydrangeas themselves are built as balls of separate beads — pink, lilac, yellow and green heads framing the composition on three sides. A pale garden arch and blurred lilac blooms stay printed behind, so the beaded clusters stand out in relief. Eleven colours give a very soft, almost pastel range.
