Description

“Ternopil region” carries flowers scattered over a dark field in five colours.

What the picture shows

The ground here is dark, almost graphite, with a faint printed pattern, and flowers are scattered over it: larger ones with white or green petals and a black centre, smaller ones made of three or four red beads. Several blooms are ringed with gold beads that pick up the colour of the cord along the edge. The design is built as a free scatter rather than a strict ornament, so it feels light and a little homely. Three hundred and thirteen beads in five colours leave most of the dark ground open. A gold cord follows every curve of the region’s border exactly.
