Description

“Mykolaiv region” carries a red and blue diamond in the middle of a small outline.

What the picture shows

The outline has sharp spurs above and below and is almost symmetrical about its centre. A large red shape like a toothed diamond opens inside it, with a dark blue square holding a red dot at its heart. Blue zigzags and small red crosses run closer to the edges and repeat the shape of the central motif. There are only two colours, red and dark blue, and that contrast is typical of Podillia embroidery. Four hundred and sixty-two beads cover the centre densely, while a band of open printed canvas is left around the edges. A gold cord is stitched along the outline.
