Description

“Khmelnitsky region” is a narrow outline split in half by a red band.

What the picture shows

The piece falls into two parts: on one side of the broad red band lies a dark ornament of black curls and diamonds, on the other a lighter one of white beads laid in rows and small flowers. The band itself is worked in red and edged with black dots, so it holds the whole composition together. There are four bead colours: besides red, black and white there are transparent beads that add a sheen. Four hundred and eighteen beads lie densely along the band and more sparsely at the edges, where the print shows through. A gold cord follows every narrowing of the shape.
