Description

“Cherkasy region” carries a sparse red and black ornament on white.

What the picture shows

This is one of the lightest pieces in the series: only two hundred and sixty-six beads, laid in separate groups. Black chains run diagonally across the white canvas, red flowers of four or five beads sit between them, and a larger star with rays opens a little to the left. The canvas stays open between the motifs, and that is what keeps the drawing light. There are only two colours, red and black. The shape has a long sharp spur and a wavy edge, so the outline is recognisable at once. A gold cord along the perimeter keeps the silhouette crisp.
