What the picture shows

The saint stands frontally, her head slightly inclined. A coral-red maphorion with a fine light pattern covers her head and falls over her shoulders. The outer robe is green-turquoise, brushed with long pale strokes like leaves. Her right hand is raised to her chest; her left holds a small vessel with green and gold trim. The halo is broad, worked in yellow, ochre and green rows. The beading is partial: beads cover the figure, the halo, the corner rosettes, the side border and the lower cartouche, while the pale background with its printed scroll remains on the canvas as the backdrop. The framing is strict — golden-brown corner rosettes, a narrow side band and a rectangular cartouche under the figure.
